During your tour, you will have the rare opportunity to experience the authentic desert lifestyle these tribes have had for many hundreds of years. Our tribal tour guides will show you and explain to you the do’s and don’ts of camel riding, how the basic camp is setup, the challenges of the desert kitchen, and most importantly what to watch out for!
After riding your camel through the stunning desert dunes for some hours, you will reach our privately owned base camp. Upon arrival, our guides will give you all necessary safety information, after which you have the chance to drink an icy cold beer or soft drink in the dunes or camp, walk freely around the dunes and take photos or relax, while our guides take care and feed the camels, and put them down for the night. The camels are as much family to the tribal guides as their wives and children, so please treat them with the upmost of respect.
Our guides will then build an open fire and explain the challenges of setting up a desert kitchen. After preparing your welcome snack and chai, they will begin cooking your traditional and delicious desert dinner which you can watch and take part in, or take a quick nap. After dinner, you can sit around the fire and talk with our guides while enjoying a cold beer or soft drink, after which they will sing a number of traditional desert songs, all of which have an interesting story behind them, so don’t forget to ask them about the background of the songs.
Finally, you will get the lie down outside under the stars on our comfortable raised beds and experience sleeping in the desert by night, but without the worry of being bothered by any bugs or animals…….an Experience we guarantee you will never forget.
